UHH Institut für Finanzierung

Chair of Banking and Behavioral Finance

Welcome

The Chair of Banking and Behavioral Finance (Prof. Dr. Markus Nöth) focuses its research on individual behavior in financial decision-making and its impact at the market level.  Fundamental research and the exploration of practical issues are conducted primarily through laboratory and field experiments.

Our teaching addresses theory based questions in bank management (e.g. Why do we have banks and deposit protection? What does a credit agreement look like?) as well as tuition in the fields of risk management and banking regulation (Basel II/III).

We also offer Behavioral Finance and Private Banking courses in English and contribute to the teaching of foundation courses in finance.
